a
simple tutorial on box-modeling |
 |
|
| |
|
| introduction: |
|
why:
these pages were born first of all for myself, i wanted to record
the steps that leaded me to the creation of a simple scene, using boxmodeling
in 3dsmax©. It's common for me to forget particular techniques or
particular commands or any other non common trick. So i wanted to leave
a "path". I used boxmodeling because it's the way i'm most used
to, with all its good and evil things. I recorded all the modeling steps,
while i left any mapping or material technique study. Then you can find
rendering settings at the end. If you click on images you can look at
the original screengrabs. |

let,s start with the
sole... |
| |
 |
| |
create
a simple box with 3 segments in width, 7 in lenght, 1 in height, then
convert to Editable Mesh. |
| |
Then move vertices
as below to give the shape of the sole. |
| |
 |
| |
At this point go to
Sub-objects, polygons and, after checking exclude backfacing, select the
polygons in the figure and extrude them. |
