Now with "ignore backface" unchecked, select those polygons. We'll erase them to define the edges of the two sides. I know we could make it in many other ways, but this was the fastest for me.

Now we have to close the hole left from erased polygons all around; nothing easier then selecting the first edge and extruding it.
